Re: Mission 7, Day 3
Reluctantly, Leyla had decided, along with Robert, that it was best for her to spend time out in space once more before deciding if she wanted to stay with him. The two days they'd spent at his house had been...more than she could ever have dreamed of. Not only had he taken care of her when she'd needed it over the last few years, with both of them admitting their feelings for each other, there was even more that he was doing to...take care of her.
But, the two days they had were over, and Robert had flown Leyla back in the same shuttle they'd taken their leave in. They made sure their goodbyes didn't last too long, or neither would want to leave the other. He'd left her with more flowers to keep in her quarters, as long as she could keep him alive.
The walk from where she’d been dropped by the shuttle to the America was long and rather lonely. Granted, it wasn’t that long of a walk, but it felt like that. Even the walk to her quarters seemed long once she had gotten on board. The boxes hadn’t moved since she left before, though it felt a little more crowded in the room. A heavy sigh escaped Leyla’s lips as she ran a hand along the books sitting on the top of the nearest box.
“Was this really such a good idea,” she asked herself quietly, “I should have let my feelings come out long ago, but he was my doctor.” Picking up one of the books, she flipped through a few of the pages before putting it back down and sitting down on her bed. “I can do this, he told me I can. I believe him.”
Having been away for two days, Leyla knew she would have to check in with the captain this time, even though she saw Leyla leaving the karaoke bar. Maybe now was the time to actually do that, instead of avoiding it.
"Computer, locate Captain O'Connor."

Re: Mission 7, Day 3
Lieutenant junior grade Brian Pendragon pulled himself up to his full height, eyes narrowed, lips pursed, nostrils flared. After months of peace, his arch-nemesis had seen fit to challenge him once again. This would not be tolerated.
"Really? That's how you want it? You and me, to the end, no surrender?" he spat in fury.
There was no reply.
This was hardly surprising as his opponent was the door to his quarters, which had taken it upon itself to open without invitation just as he had stepped out of the sonic shower. That was not to be tolerated.
His modesty covered only by the first thing that had come to hand, a reading tablet, he reached out with the other hand to his toolkit, not taking his eyes off the motion pickup sensor.
"Prepare for a Level One Diagnostic you'll never forget..."

Oh, was I supposed to write something here? Erm... I'm not sure... what sort of thing is it...? Yeah, well. Um...

Re: Mission 7, Day 3
Tegau's stomach rumbled uncomfortably. She'd ended up staying the night with her family after Devlin fell out of his tree fort- fortunately her brother's skull was too thick to crack. Her mother had insisted she stay for breakfast after spending the night making sure Devlin was alright. Amser Delaney was a force of nature, but now Tegau was wishing she'd been able to turn down at least one of the stacks of apple pancakes that had made their way onto her plate that morning.
She walked the corridors, out of uniform for she was off duty and wanted a chance to work off some of her mother's pancake-formed love. As she went, she caught sight of Brian wrestling with his door, completely in the nude, and the sight was so unexpected that she barely managed to stiffle the giggles that rose. She shook her head, keeping composed, but after passing the doorway, keeping her eye firmly forward, she called out, "Brian, if you don't find some clothes you'll end up on the ticker tape again."

Re: Mission 7, Day 3
Leyla had left, angrier than she had arrived. Had she made the right decision in going to talk to the Captain? That was now questionable. But, it was done and over, and there was no backing down from what she'd said. "Hell of a way to make a first impression," she said to herself as she got to her quarters. The boxes of books had still not been touched, nor had any of her other items.
Had she made the right decision in coming back after spending a few days with Robert? At the time both of them agreed that it was. She was questioning the decision, but if she turned back now, what would that make her?
Instead of allowing herself to be frustrated, Leyla thought back on the time she did have with Robert, and not just from the last few days, but before that. When he was her doctor, taking care of her, making sure she was able to recover from everything that had happened years ago. Now she was to a point where she was actually happy with her life, with who she was around.
But the new crew? How was she going to fit in? What was she going to do when she was called upon? She'd been out of the loop for so long and was now jumping back into it. Under a new crew who seemed very tight knit, a captain who could knock her flat on her ass if she wanted to without a second thought.
She contemplated just saying forget it and leaving, finding a place on Earth that could use her talents. But what would be the point in that? Shaking her head, she mumbled to herself. "Get a grip, Leyla. Don't give up on what you've worked towards just because of what the captain could do to you. Don't stand down, don't show any weakness."
She focused instead on unpacking, knowing they would soon be leaving, and there would be no turning back.

"What the..." Brian froze, like a rabbit caught in headlights, fight or flight response jammed by sheer unadulterated panic. Approximately eight pounding heartbeats later, he realised freezing was not the best option if he was visible and ducked behind a chair.
That had been Tegau's voice, right? Oh God, please don't let it be... that would be too embarrassing... Although... Actually, she has brothers, right? So its not likely to be something she's never seen bef... Oh, hang on, she's a Doctor, idiot! Of course, she's... and anyway, it's not like she'd be... um...
By now, he was successfully side-tracking himself wondering whether blushing was all-over and if he caught a glance of himself in the mirror, would he just be a beetroot from head to toe?
Still. Priorities. Door. Or maybe some clothes, then door... Yeah, good idea. Thanks, Tegau...

Re: Mission 7, Day 3
Tegau continued walking, still chuckling under her breath at Brian. One of these days he'd become more aware of his surroundings, but right now he was a source of amusement. And gossip, but so far it seemed mostly benign. She shook her head.
Eyeing the corridor in front of her, she wrinkled her nose. Her stomach still didn't feel settled enough to bear a real work out, even if she needed one. The last thing she needed was to puke after a work out. She headed down a different corridor, hoping the walking would help. Eventually it would.
The newest crewmember, Leyla, was quartered around here. On a whim, she decided to check in. She pushed the panel beside Leyla's door.
<tag Leyla>
"It's Tegau. I thought I'd see how you're settling in," she said with a grin.
